Dear Friends & Supporters,
Tuesday night did not turn out as we had hoped, but you have much for which to be proud. With much fewer financial resources than the career politicians that we were challenging, we managed, over the last eighteen months, to completely set the theme for the governor's race -- and not only the governor's race, but EVERY statewide race in Georgia!
When we entered this race eighteen months ago and announced that our Campaign theme would be "States' Rights," there was not a single candidate for any office who would stand with us in our open denunciation of Washington or our position that the state of Georgia should defy federal tyranny. But over the last twelve months, as candidates vying for every office in our state have seen the response that you and I have received to our message, virtually every campaign across the state has now turned upon an emphasis of States' Rights.
In our own race, it has become increasingly difficult to "stand out" from our opponents in the last three months as my opponents have, one by one, literally stolen my lines that I have used in debates for more than a year... and then claimed them as their own.
It has been an honor to serve with such a great and enthusiastic group of liberty-loving people in our Campaign. No candidate could possibly be more proud than I to have the supporters and volunteers that I have; you have certainly showed all of Georgia the difference between "paid staffers" and those who are passionate about the Cause of liberty in what you have accomplished with so few financial resources.
On my best count, we have carried the message of States' Rights to more than 50,000 people in 300+ speaking engagements, passed out more than a quarter of a million push cards with REAL solutions to the issues facing Georgia, and have ignited the enthusiasm of people all over the state to retake our liberties and restore our constitutional Republic.
Our McBerry for Governor campaign also displayed a testimony of Christian character which is rarely seen today in politics. We ran a clean campaign, only focusing on where all the candidates stood on the issues; and we offered real, constitutional solutions to each of the issues. In spite of the numerous lies and personal attacks levied against our campaign and against myself, personally, I am confident that we maintained a Christian testimony of which the Lord would be pleased. Together, we stood firm with resolve during each attack; but we never rendered evil for evil.
I am certain that we will share many more battles together in our efforts to restore liberty to the people of Georgia, and I look forward to standing on the field together with each of you in the next. I will share my personal plans for the immediate future with you within the next several weeks. But I am proud to have been your candidate and leader during this present fight.
I remain your servant in the Cause.
For Georgia First,
